Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Acornonaut collects, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data we collect

• Account data (email, auth identifiers).
• Usage data (requests, feature usage, diagnostics).
• Submitted content needed to process flashcards and study workflows.
• Billing metadata from payment provider integrations.

2. Why we process data

• Provide and improve core product functionality.
• Secure the service and prevent abuse.
• Operate billing and support workflows.
• Monitor reliability and debug failures.

3. Legal basis

We process data to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests (security, reliability, product improvement), comply with legal obligations, and, where required, based on consent.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers required to run Acornonaut (hosting, authentication, billing, AI processing, and observability). We do not sell personal data. These providers process data under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review; the app creator is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party providers beyond the safeguards required of them as our processors.

5. Third-party content and links

Content you submit for processing (such as YouTube videos and playlists) originates from third-party platforms, and the service may display or link to third-party sites and their materials. Those platforms collect and process data under their own privacy policies and terms — independently of Acornonaut. The app creator does not control and is not responsible for the content, data practices, or policies of third-party platforms. When you follow a link to a third-party site or interact with third-party content, that site's privacy policy applies.

6. Using Acornonaut from ChatGPT and other AI assistants

You can connect Acornonaut to an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude. When you do, you sign in to Acornonaut and approve the connection, and the assistant receives an access key for your account. While connected, the assistant sends Acornonaut the requests you make through it, for example a video link to turn into flashcards or the answer you gave to a card, and receives the data needed to answer them, such as your playlists, flashcards, transcripts and study statistics. Acornonaut does not receive your conversations with the assistant, only the requests it sends to Acornonaut.

The assistant's provider (for ChatGPT, OpenAI; for Claude, Anthropic) processes that data under its own privacy policy. You can disconnect an assistant at any time under Settings → Connected apps, which immediately revokes its access key, or in the assistant's own settings.

7. Retention

We retain data only as long as needed for service operation, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security needs.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of your personal data.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure. Protect your account credentials and API keys.
