By using Acornonaut (web app, API, and related services), you agree to these Terms.

1. Service description

Acornonaut helps users process learning content into study artifacts such as flashcards, quizzes, and review sessions.

2. Accounts and API keys

• You are responsible for your account security and key handling.
• Do not share API keys publicly.
• You are responsible for activity performed with your credentials.

3. Acceptable use

• Do not violate laws or third-party rights.
• Do not attempt unauthorized access or bypass controls.
• Do not abuse quotas/rate limits or distribute malicious content.

4. Content and permissions

You represent that you have rights/permissions to submit content. You retain ownership of your input and generated output, subject to third-party rights in source material.

5. Third-party platforms and services

Acornonaut depends on third-party providers (hosting, auth, billing, AI, and observability). Availability and policies of these providers may affect service behavior. These providers operate under their own terms and policies, which we do not control and for which we are not responsible.

6. Third-party content

Acornonaut processes content that you choose to submit from third-party platforms (for example, YouTube videos, playlists, transcripts, titles, and thumbnails). This content is created, owned, and controlled by its respective rights holders — not by Acornonaut or its creator. We do not host, endorse, verify, or moderate third-party content, and we are not responsible for its accuracy, completeness, legality, availability, or suitability. Your access to and use of third-party platforms remains subject to those platforms' own terms of service, and you are solely responsible for ensuring your use of submitted content complies with them and with applicable law.

7. AI-generated output

Flashcards, quizzes, and other study artifacts are generated automatically by AI models from the content you submit. AI output can contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations of the source material. It is provided for personal study purposes only and does not constitute professional, medical, legal, financial, or academic advice. You are responsible for verifying generated content before relying on it; the app creator accepts no responsibility for decisions made or outcomes resulting from its use.

8. Billing

Paid plans, limits, and billing cycles are shown in-product. Non-payment may result in suspension or downgrade.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for policy violations, security reasons, legal requirements, or non-payment.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app creator is not responsible or liable for: third-party content processed through the service or the acts, omissions, or policies of third-party platforms and providers; errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated output; content submitted by users; loss of data; or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the prior 12 months. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
